“The President’s Attitude is the Mirror of its Leadership”

Image result for president duterte“Leader needs followers and followers need a leader.” Good Day Everyone. I’m Rodlin Nobleza. Today, I will share to you my opinions, my viewpoints, my thoughts, and my perspectives. A country, a nation, a society, or even in our houses, we need so called “Leader”. Even a group of same animals has its own leader the pride of lions, an army of ants, or even band of gorillas and humans too. Leader defines as the person who is the one that who leads a group of individuals. According to mindtools.com, “According to the idea of transformational leadership, an effective leader is a person who does the following: Creates an inspiring vision of the future. Motivates and inspires people to engage with that vision.” Meaning leaders shall be the person that is the model to inspire and make the people to do what is right and not to do what is wrong. Attitudes are a person’s thoughts, feelings, and emotions about another person, object, idea, behavior, or situation. Our country just held a national presidential election last the month of May. There are five candidates that each one of them wants to take the place of the most superior level of position in our country, being the president. Do you think? Only one shall win.  An old-knew person of the country was elected it is the first Mindanaoan-native person, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He has many allegations that something to do with his attitude and behavior. Does his behavior can create a big impact to the society? Does change is really coming?

First thing first, let’s have some review to our President, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Rodrigo Duterte is a unique kind of president. Why? He has many so called “First”. He is the first president came from the island of Mindanao. He is the first person to have filled the certificate of candidacy after the official period. He is the first to come directly from a local post. And, Lastly he is the first president to be annulled. Who is Rodrigo Duterte? Duterte was born in the month of March on the 28th day at the year 1945, in Maasin (now the capital of Southern Leyte but was then part of the insular province of Leyte in the Philippine Commonwealth). His father was Cebuano lawyer Vicente G. Duterte and his mother was Soledad Roa, a native of Cabadbaran, Agusan, who was a school teacher and a civic leader of Maranao descent. He is one of the five legendary mayors in our country according to the planetphilippines.com even our former mayor, Jesse Robredo is one of the five. Rodrigo Duterte is native in the island of Mindanao and the city of Davao. Before he became the Mayor, the city was a catastrophe. The city is full of criminals, crimes, death, and chaos before Duterte became the Mayor. According to the globalnation.inquirer.net, Davao City ranked as the 5th Safest City in the world due of low-crime index. He is nicknamed as “The Punisher” because of his attitude when it comes to punishing those who commit crimes. That name describes his attitude. Before being the president of the Philippines, he got also some allegations. He is just a man that has courage to withstand other controversies about him even though a lot of bashers bash him because of his bad conduct. Like being a womanizer and for saying bad words to the pope.

On the 2016 national election, he got the highest number of votes in the presidential category. He got almost 16 million votes during the election. Later on, he is proclaimed as the president of the Philippines together with a liberal candidate for the vice-presidency Leni Robredo. At his campaign, he said all about this primary goal in the Philippines is to terminate drugs. During his administration, his attitude is somehow cannot be understand. During also his term he is quite not friendly to the nation’s friends, such as the US or the United States of America. According to Cabrera a blogger,   Duterte is forthright and plain speaking. But for me, his attitude towards to other country reflects what kind of tactics on how he shows his leadership toward to the Filipino. In a speech delivered late Friday night at Camp Lapu-Lapu in Cebu City, Duterte called Goldberg “bakla” or “gay” for comments the envoy made during the campaign. Goldberg is one of the US Ambassadors. See that he is showing his own attitude to the other nations. And, he always says some bad words to the US President, Obama. Even in his previous speech before and after being a president, he occasionally says bad words. The manifestation of his attitude will make other country to cut or to stop their agreement or even their help anytime. His tongue can make the bond between our country, the Philippines and to other countries change in a single blink.

Change is coming literary. But there are also some problems that may be considered to be constant. Let’s talk about the very common problem or so called “natural”, the poverty. Next, also called as “natural” that is occurring especially on Manila, the traffic. Traffic in there is worst. It can make a kind person into an evil one because of that. As we all know that struggle was even exist in the former administration why does his phrase “change is coming” cannot solve this madness? Unless there will be a miracle will be happened. Third, is the over population. Our administration is seeking for a solution and our president is somehow wants to have a law that every legal couple has maximum of three children and it is called the 3-child policy.  After the constant problems in our country, let’s go on to something that can be altered. First let’s go to our economic status. According to the xe.com a global website that deals to the globally exchanging currency rates, a dollar’s value into our money rate is equal to Php. 48.44 as 8:43 pm in the evening on October 16. See! if the value of peso is low meaning our economic status is deficient. In our former administration, he attained a high value of peso and we had also high economic status. Next, the war on drugs. As we all know, our president hate criminals, crimes, and most of all drugs. Ironically speaking, drugs can manipulate people, can kill people, can make people change, and can make people suffered. Before he was proclaimed as a president, he became a mayor first. Our president subjected on a case that involves terminating criminals in an impropriety manner.

As I conclude, The President’s Attitude is the Mirror of its Leadership. Our president must be the role model to its followers, the Filipinos. He is a great leader actually but his phrase “Change is coming” must be first applied to himself. His attitude or his behavior rather reflects what does the Filipinos will react but not just the Filipino but other nation. In every word, every action there will be a reaction. Thank you every one.
